Accurate
air quality measurements start with the sampling procedures and hardware. G.O. has
developed air sampling manifolds/support systems for every kind of application
in environmental air quality. Whether it be special research studies or routine
air monitoring, G.O. can provide the right product. Short residence times and
inert exposed surfaces mean that our manifold systems are suitable for even
some of the most reactive gases. Applications include measuring ozone,
hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. In addition, the support
tower serves as a platform for meteorological or other sensors. These manifold
systems have been used in major scientific studies such as the Southern Oxidant
Studies in Nashville and Atlanta, and have permanent installations at sites
such as the PROPHET site at the University of Michigan
biological station near Pellston, Michigan. The gas sampling manifold provides
a way of transferring clean air from a distant sample inlet to a laboratory
with minimum contamination or loss. Residence times are less than a second in
most applications.
