1000DT

A unique mechanical device with two pivoting release levers individually opened by successive GO Devil messengers (1000-MG) dropped down the cable from the surface. Used for a variety of functions such as opening and closure of plankton nets (see data sheet 5100-12/85), water samplers, and mid-water trawls. Conveniently releases multiple ballast and flotation packages. Bronze and stainless steel construction provide for long, reliable service in seawater.

Operation:

Attaches to cable by two quick-release pins which hold the unit loosely astraddle a cylindrical cable stop (M odel1 OOO-WS),allowing the double-trip mechanism to swivel freely about the cable. Initial GO Devil messenger (A) opens upper latch release lever; second messenger (B) disengages the lower lever. Two-step release pin enables successive drop of two messengers (A 1and B1) below the unit for serial operation of several devices along the cable. A clearance hole provides for shackle connection of a third line for retrieval. Price includes 2 messengers and 1 wire stop.
